We are winding down, for real this time! 1 1/2 days of work left! Friday afternoon will be a time of unpacking all the tools from the trucks back into the trailer, and cleaning up everything and anything. Wes and I have slowly, very slowly, started to clean up the camper and pack things into their places. There is much to do yet. Wes washed the camper and cleaned truck windows just this week, he just wants to vacuum out the truck before we leave and winterize the camper. Besides that, we're ready to roll! I think my laundry will be called done, the rest will wait until we get home. The long-awaited for rafters finally showed up today at our site, so Wes started notching them at the end of the day. Tomorrow we should be starting to put them up in the morning. This will be the 3rd house we've helped frame up since arriving in Pass.
Last friday, we all went down for supper to Christmas in the Pass. (Pass Christian.) It's like a harvest festival without rides, with the Christmas theme. There are tons of food booths (just tables, mostly) where you could order oysters, catfish, shrimp, jumbalaya, and more seafood and some burgers, fries, gyros, just tons and tons of food. So apparently the thing to do, is go around sampling different foods. It's like having many, many suppers all in a row. So, that's what we did. Wes even had his first ever, meatball cone. He really enjoyed it! As for me, I had to keep up with the rest of them with eating here and there, so I finished off 3 nacho's and cheese by the end of the evening. (They weren't that big!) After supper in the dark, we sat on the boardwalk at the gulf and watched the boat parade. (It's actually real boats decorated with lights, riding through the water. I thought it was people pulling boats with trucks, on the road!!) We ended with a nice fireworks show on the water!
Time for supper here, SEE YOU SOON!
