...Wednesday...
Today we finished our mudding and sanding our final time. We taped off the ceilings and Wes sprayed them kinda like knock-down, except not knocked down. They looked nice. If the mud is dry tomorrow on the ceiling, we will hopefully start priming the house! Yesterday, the Plaquemines Parish (that we're in--is like a county) President Billy Nungesser came for supper and shared about the Parish happenings, mostly about the oil spill. It was very interesting. Apparently as the news makes it sound, the oil is all cleaned up, but that is not the case. There is thousands of gallons still coming off every day by locals hired by BP with their personal boats. But he did say that more than 75% is cleaned up by now.
This week, the filming crew has been around with cameras in our midst everywhere. Wes and I had an interview today by them. I was so nervous! But I try to remember that they only use a few seconds of it. They are filming and taking pictures for the MDS videos they put together each year. At about 5am today it started to rain, and it rained and rained until 9am. The soggyness does not last long here as it just soaks into the ground in most places.
This weekend is our transition weekend to Pass Christian Mississippi. And I was mistaken when I said we had 4 weeks in Pass, it is actually 5.
