What a beautiful day out today. The trees that aren't already green with leaves, are beginning to bud now. I saw an emu on the way to work yesterday. Not a wild one. It made me miss the good ol' days growing up with them outside and in our basement!! Yesterday at 10am, we had Ray & Josie's house dedication. This was my first time attending one. Wes has attended a few in the past. It was an amazing experience. Since the first time I met Josie, when I was working on her house one of my first weeks here, there was a special connection between us. I felt honored to be able to attend, and Wes and I were asked to present the MDS hammer rings hope book, that was signed by all the volunteers that have been through the project. Refreshments were served afterwards. It was a lovely time, and God was definately present. At James Lamontes house, the siding is on and painted, the roof is complete, and the drywall is pretty much done. At Chris's house (the one we are both at) , we are waiting on another sheer wall inspection, which we did not pass today. So we fixed what was needed and now wait for tuesday for the next inspection. Meanwhile, the rafters are mostly finished being put on, outside doors and windows are in, and i began to paint the outside doors today. Wes had the flu today, so he stayed home. Hopefully he will be feeling better for tomorrow!!! This weekend we have 2 long termers leaving, and one left today. So we have our group supper with the long termers tomorrow night. This weekend 2 new cooks come in. Wes asked for another long termer (with carpentry skills) to be at his same house, permanently, due to the complex house, and lack of skill with most short term volunteers. So he has a 26 year old guy there now, which is helping a lot. Tomorrow is Friday. Praise the Lord! Time for rest. Week 5 almost complete.
