Right back atter!

Today started out with rain. The whole sky was cloudy and it was cccold. It actually felt really good to dress in layers today, and wear pants to work! We have a group of 20 or so here this week, all guys, between probably 20-late 30's. Most of them are framers by trade, a few have their own business. So they came to work. So everyone (except for me) got up at 5am this morning, 20 minute drive to work, worked before breakfast, ate, then back to work. Supper has been pushed back from 5:30 to 6pm so they can work longer, and they will go back to work all evening. Then back up at 5am tomorrow. cRaZy. Wes thinks so too! You can't do that too many days in a row before you burn out. I plan to stick to normal MDS hours. We've got our RV parked and hooked up to electricity, but so far haven't figured out the water situation. So we may have to move our camper a bit yet. The camp Simmie, that we're staying at, is literally hidden in the bush. You would never ever find it if you didn't know it was there. It is an old old camp, with very rustic cabins. We were visited by a mouse while having orientation in one of the large cabins. When the guys all tried to pounce on it, it was time for me to leave. We continue to learn more about Rock Solid Refuge. It is a very neat, unique camp. It is a camp for boys aged 13-17 with addictions and/or behavior problems/self control issues. Currently the 7 boys here are here for the behavior problems, such as controlling themselves with hitting/punching/yelling or listening, etc. Apparently this is similar to teen challenge, with a Christian setting. A young couple lives in 1 of the 2 houses on a country yard way out in the middle of nowhere. They have young guys as staff, mostly guys who have gone through this program, and come back to work here. First they don't want to be here, next thing they know, they want to come back. This is the first year they have started a year long program for the boys, due to a few months not being long enough to get the boys strong enough to go back into their tough settings back home and falling right back into their old routine. There is currently a guy here from Winkler, in the program. These boys have a schedule with rules, chores, school, work and fun time. They all must read their Bible every day. The setting is as a safe Christian home, which many of these boys have not grown up with. The house we are building is a 3000 square foot house, with a walk out basement, on top of a rolling hill overlooking many fields. When we got here, the base was here, as in the picture. They guys plan to have it framed up, with the roof sheeted, by tomorrow evening. We will see how far they get! It is almost supper now, which all meals are eaten in a machine shed. They pulled in an MDS kitchen trailer for the cooks. The weather today went from rain, to cloudy, to sunny, back to rain, and all over again. The wind is strong and constant out here, which helps the mosquito situation.
